Freelance Bot Developer (WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord)

About the role

Mindrift is seeking a freelance Bot Developer to join the Tendem project and create conversational bots for WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord and similar platforms. You will work remotely, collaborating with AI‑augmented agents to design reliable, production‑ready messaging solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain bots on WhatsApp Business/Cloud API, Telegram Bot API, Discord API, and related platforms.
• Design conversational flows, state management, and fallback handling.
• Integrate bots with large language models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) for natural‑language responses.
• Connect bots to backend services, databases, CRMs, and third‑party APIs such as booking or payment systems.
• Handle webhooks, rate limits, and platform‑specific message formats (buttons, media, templates).
• Evaluate and refactor AI‑generated code to ensure correctness, reliability, and graceful error handling.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and recovery mechanisms for production stability.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in backend or bot development.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one major messaging platform.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering or related field is a plus.
