Head of Accounting

About the role

The Head of Accounting will lead MF FOOD's accounting function from its Al Asimah office, overseeing all core financial processes and ensuring accurate reporting in a fast‑moving food and FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing cycles.
• Prepare, review and present financial statements in compliance with local regulations and company policies.
• Implement and monitor internal controls, support internal and external audits, and ensure statutory compliance.
• Lead, mentor and develop the on‑site accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial insights for budgeting, forecasting and strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Strong background in accounting and finance with end‑to‑end accounting operations experience.
• Proven expertise in financial statement preparation and financial reporting standards.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and support business decisions.
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Experience in the food, FMCG or manufacturing sector is an advantage.
