Head of Security – Cybersecurity & Digital Platforms

About the role

Ameera Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Head of Security for a leading e‑commerce and digital technology organisation in Kuwait. This senior leadership position combines strategic vision with hands‑on technical expertise to protect high‑traffic digital platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the organisation's cybersecurity strategy, roadmap and security policies.
• Build and lead security capabilities across engineering, operations, governance and offensive security, managing budgets and external partners.
• Oversee application, cloud and platform security, including secure software development, identity & access management and protection against bots and credential attacks.
• Establish threat detection, incident response and vulnerability management programmes, leading major security investigations.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to prevent fraud, account takeover and payment abuse, implementing robust authentication and transaction controls.
• Maintain governance, risk and compliance alignment with GCC data protection laws, ISO 27001, NIST CSF and PCI DSS, managing audits and third‑party assessments.

Required profile

• 10+ years in cybersecurity or information security, with at least 5 years leading security teams or programmes.
• Proven track record securing high‑traffic e‑commerce or consumer‑facing platforms.
• Experience communicating complex security risks to senior executives and influencing technical decisions.
• Familiarity with GCC markets and regional data‑protection regulations is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Application security, API security, cloud infrastructure security (AWS or similar).
• Identity and access management, privileged access controls, secrets management.
• Incident response, threat detection, vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
• Kubernetes, CI/CD pipeline security, AI‑enabled development tool security.
• Compliance frameworks: PCI DSS, ISO 27001, NIST CSF.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCISO or OSCP.
