HSE Coordinator – Health, Safety & Environment

About the role

The HSE Coordinator is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards at the site, in line with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) policies, client requirements, and local regulations. This role promotes a strong safety culture and works to minimise workplace risks within oil & gas operations.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE policies, procedures, and regulations, including KOC standards.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate and participate in site surveys and safety assessments.
• Monitor daily site activities to verify safe work practices.
• Support incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and reporting.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment at all times.
• Maintain HSE documentation, reports, and records in line with compliance requirements.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities and ensure readiness of equipment and personnel.
• Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and client representatives on HSE matters.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement across site operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering, or a Diploma in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience (or 10 years with at least 7 years in an HSE role) and relevant certifications.
• NEBOSH certification is preferred.
• Valid First Aider certification as per KOC requirements.
