HSE Engineer – Oil & Gas & Power Stations Experience

About the role

KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group seeks an experienced HSE Engineer for a 5‑year PMC contract supporting Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). The role focuses on implementing KOC safety policies, managing the HSE Management System, and ensuring compliance across oil‑field and power‑station projects.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and advise EPC contractors on their HSE Management Systems to ensure consistent risk reduction.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the project‑specific HSE Management System and Risk Management Plan.
• Oversee statistical data collection, reporting, and audit procedures for health, safety, and environmental performance.
• Ensure compliance with Kuwait legislation and KOC HSE requirements, communicating updates to all stakeholders.
• Review and guide subcontractor selection processes (ITB) in line with KOC expectations.
• Maintain professional relationships with KOC, regulatory bodies, and EPC contractors.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify implementation of HSE controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum 8 years post‑graduation experience, including at least 5 years in oil & gas or power‑station environments.
• At least 5 years experience in an HSE Engineer role.
• Strong knowledge of local (Kuwait) and international safety standards.
• Hands‑on experience with design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of oil‑gas installations.

Required skills

• HSE Management Systems (e.g., ISO 45001).
• Risk Management and Safety Auditing.
• Statistical data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of Kuwait HSE legislation and international safety norms.
• Oil & Gas facility design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance.
