HSE Supervisor – Oil & Gas Construction

About the role

The HSE Supervisor will support KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) on a 5‑year PMC contract for Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). The role focuses on ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance across oil‑field construction and upgrade projects.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and control HSE issues on construction sites.
• Monitor the EPC contractor’s HSE Management System and provide advice to ensure consistent compliance.
• Interpret and enforce KOC safety policies, statutory requirements and Kuwait legislation.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with KOC, regulatory bodies and EPC contractors.
• Conduct regular site visits, safety talks and training sessions tailored to ongoing activities.
• Assist in hazard identification, safety programme development, accident investigation and safety apparel management.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc. degree; alternatively High School with IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
• Minimum 15 years total experience, including at least 7 years in HSE roles within oil & gas.
• At least 10 years post‑graduation experience, with 5 years in oil & gas and 5 years as an HSE Supervisor.
• Completed certified HSE courses such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor, ASSE Global Safety Management, or equivalents.

Required skills

• Practical experience in identification and control of HSE issues on construction sites.
• Knowledge of HSE reporting procedures and common construction safety hazards.
• Ability to interpret KOC policies, statutory requirements and Kuwait legislative updates.
• Experience in accident investigation, safety programme development and safety equipment management.
