ICT Network Specialist

About the role

Egis is seeking an ICT Network Specialist to join its port facility in Kuwait. The role focuses on managing, maintaining and optimizing the critical network infrastructure that underpins port operations and logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain network infrastructure systems supporting port operations and logistics activities.
• Monitor network performance using SNMP tools and network management platforms to ensure optimal availability.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues, analyse root causes and implement timely resolutions.
• Configure and manage LAN/WAN connections, routers, switches and firewalls.
• Implement and maintain network security protocols, access controls and firewall policies.
• Perform regular maintenance, updates and patches while documenting all changes.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and coordinate upgrades.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including topology diagrams and disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Conduct capacity planning and optimisation to support current and future operational needs.
• Respond to security incidents and provide technical support to end‑users.

Required profile

• 15+ years of professional experience in network administration and infrastructure management.
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, network architecture and the OSI model.
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco, Juniper or equivalent enterprise networking equipment.
• Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs and access‑control systems.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as SNMP and Nagios.
