Inflammatory Bowel Disease Specialized Nurse

About the role

The Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Specialized Nurse provides expert, patient‑centered care for individuals living with IBD. Working closely with gastroenterologists and a multidisciplinary team, the nurse ensures safe biologic therapy administration, monitors disease activity, and supports patients throughout remission and flare‑ups.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, monitor disease activity, and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer and monitor biologic and immunosuppressant therapies, manage flare‑ups, and support remission.
• Educate patients on treatment options, self‑management, and lifestyle modifications.
• Coordinate care with gastroenterologists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless pre‑ and post‑procedure support.
• Maintain accurate documentation, uphold quality and safety standards, and contribute to KPI tracking, audits, and quality initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree meeting Kuwait MOH licensing requirements.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in gastrointestinal/digestive health.
• Valid BLS certification; ACLS certification where applicable.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication management, and patient education abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, multicultural hospital environment.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
