Instrumentation Engineer – Oil & Gas

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to lead and supervise instrumentation and control maintenance activities for our operations in Kuwait. The role focuses on ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance of all instrumentation and control systems across our oil and gas facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and lead instrumentation and control maintenance teams.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and electrical instrumentation.
• Maintain and support PLC, DCS, SCADA, ESD, fire & gas detection, and other industrial control systems.
• Develop and maintain equipment records, asset information, and maintenance documentation within a CMMS.
• Update as‑built drawings, technical documentation, and equipment catalogs.
• Design preventive maintenance programs and manage manpower, material, and spare‑part requirements.
• Perform and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of instrumentation, control systems, and protective devices.
• Diagnose system faults and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Coordinate testing, calibration, repair activities, and maintenance planning.
• Prepare maintenance reports, shutdown analyses, failure investigations, and equipment history records.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, permit‑to‑work procedures, and audit requirements.
• Develop and deliver technical training for maintenance personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in instrumentation and control system maintenance.
• At least 4 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or similar process facilities.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, calibration, fault diagnosis, and instrumentation reliability.
