Lead Construction Engineer – Civil/Structural (Marine)

About the role

The Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group of KBR is seeking a Lead Construction Engineer – Civil/Structural (Marine) to oversee the construction of a new oil‑pier facility for KNPC in Kuwait. The role will start in the engineering phase at KBR’s Kuwait office and move to the KNPC site office during construction, working closely with the EPC contractor.

Key responsibilities

• Review and monitor all construction activities carried out by the EPC contractor on the oil pier, loading platform, control tower, O&M building and associated marine structures.
• Coordinate with the client, EPC contractor and KBR project teams to resolve construction issues and ensure compliance with quality and schedule requirements.
• Assess EPC deliverables from a construction‑methodology perspective and provide feedback.
• Participate in client and contractor meetings, workshops and progress reporting.
• Support KBR lead planning/scheduling functions with reports, timesheets and activity logs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Marine, Ocean, Naval or Offshore Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of post‑graduation industrial experience, including at least 8 years in refinery or petrochemical environments.
• At least 3 years leading engineering or project‑management consultancy work.
• Proven experience with marine construction such as jetties, piers, approach trestles, loading arms and mooring dolphins.
