Lead Planning/Schedule Engineer - Buildings

About the role

KBR's Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is hiring a Lead Planning / Schedule Engineer for a 5-year PMC contract providing programme management services to Kuwait Oil Company. The contract supports KOC in reaching optimum capacity in its oilfields and upgrading its facilities through project management, planning, design, engineering, construction management, contracting, procurement and project controls. The role manages the planning process and planning personnel across the organisation and supports the Project Controls Manager and Planning Department Head.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the planning function during design and/or construction stages of assigned projects
• Assess working practices and systems to continuously improve them, and manage the Planning Team to deliver a complete planning/scheduling service
• Supervise and direct the Planning Focal Point and Planning Engineers, and liaise with the client's UEV Cost & Planning team
• Prepare weekly/monthly reports, analyse contractor reports, and prepare regular status reports and forecasts
• Ensure assets and shutdown plans are prepared consistently and accurately, and liaise with Engineering, Construction, Operations Development and Asset focal points
• Maintain the current and baseline schedule, analyse proposed changes and maintain the baseline change control process
• Develop other planning and specialist support staff at home and field offices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Minimum 10 years of post-graduation experience
• Minimum 5 years in buildings projects and 5 years in a similar role
• At least 5 years of hands-on planning experience

Required skills

• Planning software such as Primavera and MS Project (minimum 5 years)
• Analysis, problem solving and communication (written and oral)
• Formal presentation skills and ability to influence and persuade
