Materials Engineer (Oil & Gas)

About the role

We are seeking a Materials Engineer to join our Oilfield Services team in Kuwait. The role combines technical expertise with commercial support, ensuring the right materials and spare parts are available for projects, shutdowns and maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide techno‑commercial support to procurement and maintenance teams.
• Coordinate repair and refurbishment of major equipment and components.
• Liaise with operations, procurement and stores to evaluate technical bids, resolve queries and address material discrepancies.
• Review and manage spare‑parts requirements for new projects and ongoing maintenance.
• Prepare technical specifications and documentation for material codification and procurement.
• Monitor procurement activities to guarantee timely material availability for shutdowns, overhauls and planned maintenance.
• Verify material availability reports and deliver regular inventory and procurement status updates.
• Maintain accurate records in CMMS and other enterprise software.
• Support continuous improvement of inventory management and procurement processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of techno‑commercial experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy or Industrial sectors.
• At least 4 years of experience using CMMS, ERP or inventory management systems.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, material codification and spare‑parts management.
• Proven ability in technical bid evaluation, vendor coordination and procurement support.
• Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
