Patient Care Technician / Nurse's Aid (PRN)

About the role

Peterson Health, a not‑for‑profit rural community hospital in Kerrville, TX, is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Nurse's Aid on a PRN (as‑needed) basis. Working under the supervision of a licensed nurse, you will provide basic and advanced nursing care to support the emotional and physical needs of patients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine personal care, change linens, and assist with patient ambulation.
• Take and record vital signs, transport patients, and support patient mobility.
• Assist the nursing team with basic clinical tasks and ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Provide compassionate, patient‑centered care and act as a positive role model for teamwork.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Ability to read, write, and perform simple math; follow instructions accurately.
• BLS certification and Nurse's Aid certification or completion of one year of formal RN coursework (e.g., first year of an ADN program or junior year of a BSN).
• One year of in‑hospital PCT experience or comparable patient‑care experience is preferred.
