Patient Care Technician (RN Student) – PRN, Resource Team

About the role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) position supports patients and families with basic care, monitoring, and hygiene while working closely with the healthcare team. This PRN role is ideal for an RN student who wants hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with basic patient care, hygiene, and vital sign monitoring.
• Ensure completeness of care tasks and maintain accurate documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team.
• Collaborate with team members to anticipate and address patient needs.
• Provide education and training on CPR, essential skills, crucial conversations, and hospitality in healthcare.

Required profile

• Actively enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program with at least one semester completed.
• Minimum of 12 college credit hours, including a passing grade in English Composition (C or higher) and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher (transcripts verified).
• Healthcare or service‑industry experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to work flexible PRN hours (6:30 am–7:00 pm or 7:00 pm–6:30 am).
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to learn new healthcare skills, collaborate consistently, and proactively solve problems.

Required skills

• CPR certification.
