Phlebotomist

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Phlebotomist to join our clinical laboratory team. The successful candidate will perform sterile capillary and venipuncture procedures, ensure accurate sample collection, and support laboratory operations in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sterile capillary prick and venipuncture for blood collection.
• Identify veins correctly and adhere to lab safety and quality control measures.
• Use the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to verify test orders and label samples with barcodes.
• Handle lab reception duties, dispatch samples, and assist with reagent and supply management.
• Draw blood from patients of all ages using appropriate collection tubes and containers.
• Respond to emergencies such as fainting or bleeding and alert technicians as needed.
• Conduct Point‑Of‑Care Testing (POCT) and answer phone inquiries.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient results and follow standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of phlebotomy experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Lab Technology (MLT) or Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Experience with ACI or CAP accreditation programs.
• Fluent written and spoken English; basic Arabic.
• Strong communication skills with physicians, nurses and patients.
