Procurement Engineer – EPC Projects

About the role

The Procurement Engineer will manage all purchasing activities for EPC projects, ensuring that materials and services are sourced efficiently, cost‑effectively, and on schedule. You will act as the liaison between vendors, engineering, finance, and site teams to guarantee smooth delivery and compliance with project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Send enquiries to suppliers and follow up for quotations that meet price and delivery criteria.
• Evaluate commercial offers and prepare comparative statements.
• Coordinate with the Engineering Department for technical evaluation of vendor proposals.
• Prepare purchase contracts and Letter of Credit applications.
• Track vendor submissions of drawings and documents, ensuring timely material delivery.
• Liaise with site teams to confirm receipt of materials as required.
• Work with Finance to guarantee timely supplier payments.
• Collaborate with Project Management on delivery and completion schedules.
• Ensure project insurance coverage and maintain procurement documentation per ISO procedures.
• Coordinate with QC for material inspection before site delivery.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• 6‑8 years of procurement experience, preferably within an EPC environment.
• Experience on Substation and Overhead Transmission Line projects is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP ERP system.
