Procurement Officer – Raw Materials

About the role

The Procurement Officer will support raw material and ingredient procurement activities, coordinating supplier communication, purchase processes, documentation, and freight arrangements to ensure uninterrupted food manufacturing operations. The role also contributes to QA documentation, sustainability initiatives, and new product development procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement of raw materials and production supplies, preparing accurate purchase orders.
• Negotiate commercial terms, including pricing, payment conditions, Incoterms and lead times.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, logistics providers and customs agents to ensure timely shipment and delivery.
• Handle international freight arrangements (sea, air) and track shipments.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory standards and company policies.
• Monitor material availability, working with production planning and inventory teams to prevent shortages.
• Develop and maintain a reliable supplier base, qualifying suppliers on quality, certifications, pricing and capacity.
• Review supplier performance and drive improvement actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, procurement, business administration, food technology or related field.
• 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Proven experience sourcing food ingredients and managing raw‑material suppliers.
• Experience handling international suppliers, overseas shipments and import documentation.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP procurement systems (e.g., Oracle) and Microsoft 365/Office.
• Strong negotiation, cost‑analysis and commercial evaluation abilities.
