Remediation Specialist (Senior Environmental Technologist)

About the role

Worley is seeking a Senior Environmental Technologist to lead remediation projects across the GCC region. The role focuses on landfill installations, oil‑contaminated soil, and related hazardous disposals, ensuring environmental compliance throughout design, construction, and operation phases.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and prepare Environmental Impact Assessments and conceptual site modelling.
• Develop and implement environmental control measures for projects and ensure compliance at all stages.
• Prepare technical correspondence, project proposals, reports, work plans, specifications, cost estimates and budgets.
• Maintain regular communication with clients through presentations and written reports.
• Interpret environmental regulations and investigation results to meet client requirements.
• Ensure quality assurance within the Contaminated Sites Group’s QA system.
• Promote personal safety and follow occupational health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Degree from an accredited university (essential contractual requirement).
• Post‑qualification experience in the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry, preferably with heavy‑oil projects.
• Experience in GCC countries and with remediation technologies for oil‑contaminated soil.
• Proven ability to develop remediation program strategies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with multicultural teams.
