Residential Support Professional

About the role

The Residential Support Professional provides direct, hands‑on assistance to individuals living in a 5‑bedroom neuro‑rehabilitation residence. Working within a transdisciplinary team, you help persons recovering from brain injury or other neurological conditions develop independence and improve daily living skills.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver daily support to residents in a residential neuro‑rehabilitation setting.
• Create, monitor, and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the Residential Support Team Lead and Assistance Lead.
• Teach and reinforce life‑skill activities such as meal planning, budgeting, community access, and activities of daily living.
• Identify and address neuro‑behavioral and neuro‑cognitive challenges, developing self‑management strategies.
• Maintain accurate electronic records and communicate effectively with the care team.

Required profile

• Possess or be able to obtain an Iowa Class D3 Chauffeurs license.
• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain training.
• Ability to obtain Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) certification (paid by employer).
• Ability to obtain Medication Manager certification (paid by employer).
• Prior experience in direct care with knowledge of neuro‑behavioral or neuro‑cognitive issues.
• Strong communication skills and comfort using computers and electronic record systems.
