Rig Driver – Transport & Vehicle Operations

About the role

The Rig Driver is responsible for safely operating a range of vehicles to transport personnel, equipment, and materials to and from rig locations. The role requires strict adherence to safety standards, efficient load handling, and reliable vehicle maintenance while working in remote and often challenging environments.

Key responsibilities

• Operate trucks and other vehicles to move equipment, supplies, and staff between job sites and base camps.
• Transport oversized, flammable, or explosive loads over long distances and rough terrain.
• Load, transport, and unload the rig itself, including moving machinery to new locations.
• Operate a vacuum truck to collect and dispose of waste materials from sites.
• Comply with all driving regulations, company policies, and load‑securing procedures.
• Inspect vehicles, perform preventative and minor maintenance, and record any defects.

Required profile

• Vocational high school education.
• 1–3 years of relevant driving or transport experience.
• Medium level of English and basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, day or night shifts.
• Certifications as per ADES Training Matrix and a valid heavy‑transport driver licence.
