Safety Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Safety Engineer / HSE Engineer to join our team on a 400 kV Overhead Transmission Line project in Kuwait. The role involves ensuring the health, safety and environmental standards are met across all construction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the project HSE plan, procedures and requirements.
• Conduct regular safety inspections on transmission line work fronts and construction sites.
• Identify hazards and enforce appropriate control measures.
• Oversee safety during excavation, foundation works, lifting operations, tower erection, work‑at‑height and conductor/OPGW stringing.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, regulations and approved procedures.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety inductions and HSE awareness training.
• Manage permit‑to‑work systems and safe work practices.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, near‑misses and unsafe conditions, recommending corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain HSE reports, risk assessments, inspection records and related documentation.
• Coordinate with project management, site engineers, subcontractors and client/consultant HSE teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience on high‑voltage (HV) or overhead transmission line projects.
• Experience with 400 kV transmission line projects is highly preferred.
• Relevant HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH or OSHA are an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively in a large outdoor/site‑based environment and immediate availability.
