Safety Officer – Construction Projects

About the role

The Safety Officer will lead the development and implementation of safety strategies for construction projects, focusing on substations and transmission line works. You will ensure compliance with client and consultant requirements while promoting a culture of safety across all project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and obtain approval for safety and lifting plans from consultants or clients.
• Conduct safety audits, raise non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and drive corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training to project personnel and coordinate mock drills.
• Represent the organization in safety meetings with clients, consultants and regulatory bodies.
• Validate execution plans and monitor critical activities involving safety hazards.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably on substations or transmission line projects.
• Graduate or Diploma in Engineering.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to analyse critical paths and take corrective actions based on drill observations.

Required skills

• NEBOSH certification.
• IOSH certification.
• OSHA certification.
