Safety Officer

About the role

The Safety Officer will lead the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across oil and gas electrical projects. This role ensures compliance with local and international regulations while fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and audit HSE policies and procedures for industrial and construction activities.
• Conduct risk assessments and site inspections for electrical projects.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure safe execution of work plans.
• Prepare and present HSE reports to senior management.
• Lead incident investigations and drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in a relevant field.
• Diploma in Safety plus NEBOSH and IOSH certifications (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in oil and gas, preferably on electrical projects.
• Proven ability to work independently and lead HSE initiatives.

Required skills

• Certified HSE training (General Industrial Safety, Construction Safety, Environmental Management).
• ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor knowledge.
• NEBOSH certification.
• IOSH certification.
• ASSE Certificate in Global Safety Management.
