Section Manager – Dairy (Retail)

About the role

The Section Manager – Dairy is responsible for implementing quality, range and freshness standards of offered goods to attract customers and achieve sales targets. The role also ensures exceptional customer service is delivered within the section.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and report competitor activities (prices, range, promotions) to maintain competitive advantage.
• Negotiate internal promotions with suppliers to reinforce discount image in the section.
• Oversee establishment of a competitive assortment offer.
• Stay informed about competition activities in the store’s catchment area and take necessary measures.
• Oversee commercial policy agreed for store pricing.
• Ensure proper conservation, utilization and profitability of the department’s assets.
• Oversee product assortment in the section.
• Support comparative studies within the section to improve commercial concepts.

Required profile

• Diploma in Commerce or Finance.
• 2+ years experience in retail business.
• 1+ year experience in an operations supervisory role.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Customer service orientation.
• Effective time management.
