Security Coordinator

About the role

The Security Coordinator supports the daily security operations of the American International University, ensuring a safe and secure environment for students, staff, visitors, and university property. Reporting to the Director of Security, this role plays a key part in maintaining campus safety and implementing security policies.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and support day‑to‑day campus security operations in line with established protocols.
• Maintain student and campus safety in accordance with the university’s code of conduct and security guidelines.
• Implement and update security procedures, systems, and emergency response plans.
• Supervise entry and exit processes for students, staff, visitors, and vendors.
• Oversee vehicle and parking safety, ensuring proper access control.
• Prepare and issue reports, security communications, and incident summaries for management review.
• Support recruitment, training, and scheduling of security personnel.
• Coordinate safety initiatives, emergency drills, and special‑event security with relevant departments.
• Assist departmental projects aimed at enhancing campus security infrastructure.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills in English, able to engage at all organizational levels.
• Demonstrated knowledge of security practices; campus or institutional security experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage pressure, and exercise sound judgment.
• High attention to detail, confidentiality, and professional discretion.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities to meet operational deadlines.
• Collaborative mindset with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Required skills
