Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will support core accounting and reporting functions, covering receivables, payables, general ledger, fixed assets, inventory, cash, and banking activities. You will work closely with finance leadership to ensure accurate financial data and compliance with IFRS 17 standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly Accounts Receivable aging reports and distribute customer statements.
• Generate provision and management reports for financial analysis.
• Calculate and process commission payments for sales representatives and brokers.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of customer and general ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Address customer queries, coordinate with relevant departments, and review motor insurance claim files for accuracy.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and schedules in line with IFRS 17 and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation.
• Monitor compliance with internal controls, company policies, and financial regulations.
• Maintain accounting records in insurance accounting systems, ensuring data integrity.

Required profile

• Graduated in Accounting or Commerce with solid accounting knowledge.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Accountant or Senior Accountant, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Analytical mindset with good problem‑solving and presentation abilities.
• Team‑oriented with strong English communication skills; Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems.
