Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance Department in Kuwait. The role focuses on managing day‑to‑day accounting activities, supporting month‑end and year‑end closings, and delivering accurate financial information for management decision‑making, particularly within the construction and contracting environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review daily accounting transactions, ensuring proper recording in the ERP system.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, provisions, adjustments and perform account reconciliations.
• Execute monthly, quarterly and year‑end closing processes and produce financial and management reports.
• Conduct bank, customer, supplier and general‑ledger reconciliations, and monitor AR/AP balances.
• Oversee project accounting, including cost allocation, WIP tracking, subcontractor invoicing and profitability analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis as required.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and IFRS standards, and coordinate with auditors during audit periods.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, with mandatory experience in a construction/contracting company.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, costing, WIP and project profitability.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• IFRS knowledge.
• Project accounting and costing expertise.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills.
• General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and reconciliation experience.
• Month‑end and year‑end closing procedures.
