Senior Manager – Credit Risk (Kuwaitization)

About the role

The Senior Manager – Credit Risk will support the credit approval process for corporate and retail facilities that fall outside standard policy parameters. Reporting to senior risk leadership, the incumbent will evaluate credit proposals, ensure compliance with QNB’s risk strategy, and apply best practices aligned with Basel II and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing the end‑to‑end credit approval workflow for individual corporate and retail proposals.
• Assess the quality and risk profile of each credit exposure against established policies.
• Maintain a standardized evaluation process to keep all approved credits within the bank’s Credit Risk Strategy.
• Collaborate with the SVP of Risk to define and monitor departmental KPIs.
• Exercise delegated authority, oversee delegation to staff, and ensure proper oversight.
• Promote cost‑consciousness, operational efficiency, and productivity improvements.
• Coordinate with the Compliance Group to stay updated on Central Bank regulations affecting credit risk.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in credit risk management within a banking environment.
• Strong understanding of Basel II guidelines and local regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to evaluate complex credit proposals and make risk‑based decisions.
• Excellent analytical skills and a solid grasp of financial and non‑financial performance drivers.
