Senior Pavement / Road Lead for Marine & Port Project

About the role

Egis is seeking a senior professional to lead all pavement and road construction activities for a major marine and port infrastructure project in Kuwait. The role combines deep technical expertise in pavement engineering with strong project management and team‑leadership responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Approve pavement designs, trial sections and mix designs (CBGM, base, asphalt, interlock) and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Control subgrade, layer compaction, levels and surface regularity for yard equipment loads.
• Conduct plant and laying method checks, joint and drainage detail verification.
• Lead quality assurance and quality control inspections, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations and local Kuwait construction standards.
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, supervisors and field personnel.
• Prepare and present progress reports, performance metrics and project documentation to senior management and clients.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in heavy‑duty port or airfield pavement projects.
• Proven ability to lead, develop and manage technical teams in international, multicultural environments.
• Strong experience in project scheduling, budget management and cost control.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Pavement design and mix design expertise (CBGM, asphalt, interlock).
• Proficiency with project management software (Microsoft Project, Primavera or equivalent).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design/drafting tools.
• Knowledge of QA/QC inspection procedures and safety compliance standards.
