Senior Tool Pusher - Land Drilling

About the role

The Senior Tool Pusher acts as superior authority at rig location for operational safety, efficiency, drilling integrity and client relations. The role provides onboard leadership and direction for department leaders, meeting client drilling program requirements while respecting company procedures and the allocated rig budget.

Key responsibilities

• Rig operations: organise and supervise drilling, moving and maintenance departments; coordinate with the Rig Manager on the client's well program; prepare and review well programs, schedules, JSA and PTW, and manage deviations in Synergi
• Manage the drilling program through daily IADC logs, approve equipment use and maintenance, and plan rig moves, preventive maintenance and repairs
• Lead the emergency response team during emergencies, ensure well control and safety drills are held and recorded, and maintain housekeeping standards
• Act as primary client contact, represent the company professionally and keep close relationships with department heads, operators, subcontractors and crew
• Maintain logs and reports (daily drilling, equipment status, incident reports), review technical bulletins and assist in maintenance and repair tracking
• Train, mentor and evaluate the team, support the competency assurance program and oversee catering, kitchen hygiene and accommodation standards

Required profile

• High school or vocational/technical qualification
• At least 8 years of land drilling and workover experience with reputable drilling contractors, including time as Driller and Tool Pusher
• At least 3 years as a Night Tool Pusher in land drilling
• Valid Well Control certificate (Well Sharp / IADC)
