Site Engineer

About the role

The Site Engineer holds on‑site engineering responsibility for the Shuwaikh Villas project, planning, coordinating and driving daily construction activities while managing subcontractors, materials, payments and technical matters to keep the villas on schedule and within specification. Working independently and reporting to the Project Manager, the role also monitors the Chalet project and supports engineering tasks on other Zaleej projects as required.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day construction activities and material arrangements, ensuring labour, subcontractors and materials are in place as planned.
• Review engineering drawings, layouts and technical specifications, resolve discrepancies and raise formal queries to consultants.
• Oversee subcontractors and labour, verify progress and payments before submission for approval.
• Monitor project progress against the work programme, identify slippage early and report weekly with recovery actions.
• Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental requirements through inspections and corrective actions.
• Manage technical matters, coordinate with the design office, and handle material and shop‑drawing approvals and authority inspections.
• Maintain site records, daily reports, progress photographs and project documentation.
• Monitor the Chalet project and support engineering tasks on other Zaleej projects as directed.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of site/project engineering experience in villa or low‑rise residential construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, standards and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to manage subcontractors independently.
• Native fluency in Arabic and professional fluency in English (read, write, speak).
• Transferable Article 18 residency in Kuwait and a valid Kuwait driving licence.
