Stores Officer – Central Stores Department

About the role

The Stores Officer will support the Central Stores Department by ensuring efficient receipt, storage, issuance, and monitoring of inventory items. The role focuses on maintaining accurate stock records, guaranteeing availability of supplies, and upholding institutional inventory control procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials and supplies according to approved procedures.
• Store and organize inventory items, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and accessibility.
• Issue materials to departments based on approved requests and stock availability.
• Monitor inventory levels, report shortages, discrepancies, or damaged items.
• Maintain accurate stock records and update inventory transactions in the system.
• Conduct regular stock checks and inventory counts to verify accuracy.
• Coordinate with procurement and user departments regarding stock requirements and replenishment.
• Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures and institutional policies.
• Assist in preparing inventory reports and stock movement documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the store environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in stores, inventory, or warehouse operations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and stock control procedures.
