About the role
The Transient Aircraft Services (TAS) Technician provides critical ground handling and servicing for aircraft arriving and departing from a Southwest Asia base supporting U.S. and coalition forces. Working under the AFCAP V program, the role ensures safe, efficient turn‑around of aircraft in a high‑tempo, austere environment, requiring a Secret security clearance.
Key responsibilities
- Perform aircraft marshaling, parking, chocking and grounding in accordance with Technical Orders and airfield procedures.
- Execute arrival and departure services, including positioning, tool control, and FOD prevention on the flight line.
- Conduct operator‑level inspections and servicing of vehicles and support equipment used in TAS operations.
- Maintain strict accountability of tools and equipment, adhering to tool‑control programs.
- Document aircraft servicing records, shift logs and inspection checklists accurately.
- Identify and report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions and operational issues promptly.
Required profile
- Possession of a U.S. Secret clearance.
- Ability to work 24/7/365 in a demanding, austere environment.
- Commitment to zero‑harm safety standards, including proper use of PPE.
- Effective communication with supervisors and team members.
Required skills
