Vice President of Mechanical Engineering

About the role

The Vice President of Mechanical Engineering will lead all mechanical engineering activities for the Company’s development projects across design, construction, testing and commissioning phases. The role provides technical consultation and support when projects become operational assets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, supervise and control all mechanical engineering matters throughout the project lifecycle.
• Gather and provide technical and financial data for competitions and opportunities.
• Prepare mechanical engineering requirements, TORs, RFQs and RFPs.
• Review contractor and consultant proposals, offering technical and financial feedback.
• Provide mechanical engineering input for project management plans, budgets and schedules.
• Conduct design reviews at concept, schematic, developed and detailed stages.
• Ensure approvals from MEW and local authorities for mechanical loads and standards.
• Coordinate mechanical works with other disciplines to avoid scope conflicts.
• Supervise on‑site mechanical works, monitor progress and ensure compliance with contracts.
• Attend technical coordination meetings and prepare periodic project reports.
• Evaluate MEP subcontractors, materials, equipment and mock‑ups.
• Review interim payments and assess contractor claims.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in mechanical engineering within large‑scale development projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex contracts.
• Strong understanding of local authority requirements and industry codes.
• Excellent analytical and financial assessment skills.
