Vice President of Mechanical Engineering

About the role

The Vice President of Mechanical Engineering will lead all mechanical engineering activities for the company's development projects throughout design, construction, testing and commissioning phases. The role also provides expert consultation once projects become operational assets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage mechanical engineering requirements, prepare TORs, RFQs and RFPs.
• Review and evaluate contractor proposals, providing technical and financial feedback.
• Ensure design documents comply with codes, standards and local authority approvals (MEW).
• Coordinate mechanical engineering work with other disciplines to avoid scope conflicts.
• Supervise on‑site mechanical works, monitor progress against schedule, and approve interim payments.
• Prepare periodic reports and technical inputs for project management plans, budgets and master schedules.
• Assess and select MEP sub‑contractors, materials, equipment and mock‑ups.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in mechanical engineering within large‑scale development projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex contracts.
• Strong understanding of local regulatory requirements and approval processes.
• Excellent analytical and decision‑making skills for technical and financial evaluations.
