WAN Engineer

About the role

V2X is seeking an experienced WAN Engineer to support its Southwest Asia Area of Responsibility. The role involves operating and maintaining a geographically dispersed Wide Area Network, ensuring stability, security, and optimal performance across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and operate Cisco routers, switches and VPN devices throughout the Southwest Asia region.
• Configure and troubleshoot OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MP‑BGP, DMVPN (phases 1‑3), MPLS, VRF and QoS.
• Evaluate network performance and adjust hardware/software to optimize throughput.
• Perform regular system maintenance for IAVA vulnerabilities and CCRI compliance.
• Conduct capacity planning for data, voice and video communications.
• Monitor WAN availability using DX NetOps Spectrum, SolarWinds Orion and Cisco DNA Center.
• Apply DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to all managed technologies.
• Investigate malicious network activity and maintain detailed network diagrams.
• Track and resolve network issues through the designated ticketing system.

Required profile

• Expert‑level certifications such as CCNP/CCIE and CISSP.
• Extensive experience with Cisco WAN infrastructure and routing protocols.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a host‑nation visa and driver’s license.
• Strong knowledge of network security fundamentals and DISA STIG compliance.
• Proven capability to work in a multinational, defense‑focused environment.
