Weight, Metabolic & Digestive Health Psychologist

About the role

The department of Psychiatry seeks a Clinical Psychologist to support patients with weight, metabolic and digestive health concerns. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence‑based assessments and behavioral interventions that complement bariatric and weight‑management programs.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical, cognitive, psychosocial and pre‑bariatric surgery evaluations.
• Design individualized treatment plans targeting emotional eating, stress management and sustainable lifestyle changes.
• Provide therapy for obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, IBS, IBD and stress‑related gastrointestinal symptoms.
• Collaborate with endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, bariatric surgeons and dietitians to ensure integrated care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with JCI standards and hospital regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university approved by the Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait.
• Minimum 3 years post‑Master's experience treating weight, metabolic and digestive health patients.
• Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
• Ability to work calmly in a fast‑paced environment and assume greater clinical responsibility.
