Assistant Design Manager

About the role

The Assistant Design Manager supports the Design Manager in delivering high‑quality construction documentation and design briefs across multiple disciplines. This role ensures seamless technical coordination, monitors design milestones, and helps manage authority submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Design Manager in engaging consultants to produce initial construction documentation, conceptual frameworks, and design briefs.
• Coordinate all design disciplines, including Architecture, Structure, MEP, Landscape, Interior Design, and specialist consultants.
• Manage day‑to‑day technical coordination with design consultants and review submissions for quality, compliance, and coordination.
• Lead design coordination meetings, track action items, and monitor closure of resolutions.
• Track design program milestones, identify schedule risks, and support value‑engineering initiatives.
• Support authority submission processes and coordinate responses to comments and requirements.
• Identify design changes impacting cost, scope, or program and maintain issue logs, change registers, and progress reports.
• Issue consolidated technical comments, chair coordination meetings on behalf of the Design Manager, and escalate significant risks to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 15 years of post‑qualification experience in multi‑disciplinary design coordination, preferably on the client side for a developer.
• Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage.
