Assistant Professor – Information Systems & Technology / Computer Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Assistant Professor to join the Information Systems & Technology / Computer Engineering department of a leading private university in Kuwait, starting in the Fall semester 2026. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research and service activities in a diverse, international academic community.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate courses in IS, IT and Computer Engineering.
• Prepare teaching materials, assessments and supervise laboratory sessions.
• Guide and mentor students in research projects and academic progress.
• Conduct high-quality research, publish in refereed journals and attract research funding.
• Participate in departmental, college and university committees and strategic initiatives.
• Support and supervise teaching assistants and lab instructors.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field from an internationally accredited university.
• Strong publication record, especially in the last five years.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate level.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in academia or industry.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.

Required skills

• Programming: Python, C++, C#, JavaScript, Java.
• Experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS).
• Knowledge of immersive technologies (preferred).
