Chief Accountant – Logistics & Customs Company

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to lead the finance function of a customs clearance and logistics company based in Kuwait City. The role involves overseeing all accounting activities, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and providing strategic financial insight to support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with Kuwaiti accounting standards.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow monitoring to support operational planning.
• Ensure timely and correct tax filings and regulatory compliance.
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with other departments such as logistics, customs and operations to align financial processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least several years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Previous experience in logistics, customs clearance, transportation or freight forwarding is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Kuwaiti accounting standards and financial reporting.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a plus.
• Currently residing in Kuwait and available to join immediately.
