Demi Chef de Partie – Sushi

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Demi Chef de Partie specializing in sushi to join our kitchen team at a Courtyard hotel in Kuwait City. The role involves preparing high‑quality sushi dishes and supporting the culinary team during busy service periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special sushi meals and substitute items according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters and ensure proper food thawing.
• Pull items from freezer, portion, arrange and garnish dishes, and maintain food logs.
• Monitor food quality and quantity, inform the Chef of excess items for daily specials, and communicate menu specials or out‑of‑stock items to service staff.
• Prepare and cook cold foods and other menu items following safety and quality checklists.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling and employee coaching as needed.
• Follow all company safety, security and uniform policies, and report any hazards or incidents.
• Provide attentive service to guests, maintain professional communication and support team goals.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum three years of relevant culinary experience, preferably in sushi preparation.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification mentioned.
