Director of Operations – Hotel Management

About the role

As the Director of Operations you will lead the operational excellence of a Hilton hotel, ensuring that all department heads achieve and surpass revenue and guest‑satisfaction targets. Working closely with the General Manager, you will drive strategic initiatives, manage capital projects and uphold the brand’s service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the General Manager on key property issues, including capital projects, refurbishments and customer service improvements.
• Develop and monitor realistic hotel budgets and long‑term strategic goals.
• Provide leadership to the hotel management team, ensuring performance targets are met and exceeded.
• Respond to internal audits and implement continuous improvement actions.
• Plan, direct and coordinate service delivery across all operational departments to exceed guest expectations.
• Control operational costs, analyse results and take corrective actions where needed.
• Mentor and develop Heads of Department, supporting career progression and succession planning.
• Gather and act on guest feedback to maintain high satisfaction levels.
• Conduct regular briefings and communication meetings with the HOD team.

Required profile

• A degree or diploma in Hotel Management or a related field.
• Strong commercial acumen, preferably with experience in Food & Beverage or Rooms Management.
• Proven experience in budgeting, revenue forecasting and financial analysis.
• In‑depth knowledge of the hotel, leisure or service sector.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to motivate teams and achieve high performance.
• Accountable, resilient and able to work effectively under pressure.
