Driller – Supervise Drill Crew & Manage Drilling Operations

About the role

The Driller leads the drill crew and oversees all drilling activities to meet the operator’s program requirements while maintaining the highest safety standards. This role involves operating drilling controls, monitoring parameters, and responding to well‑control situations on an offshore or on‑shore drilling unit.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the drilling operation, operate and control drilling equipment, and ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Supervise the drill crew, assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide guidance.
• Monitor drilling parameters, adjust equipment settings, and troubleshoot issues to optimise performance.
• Report progress, well conditions, safety incidents, and any deviations to senior personnel and client representatives.
• Maintain accurate records: drilling reports, equipment logs, safety records, pipe tally, BHA/completion components, and critical fishing dimensions.
• Ensure 3rd‑party personnel and subcontractors follow safe work methods on the drill floor.
• Collaborate with well planners, engineers, and other team members to develop drilling plans and strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising drill crews and conducting drilling operations.
• Strong understanding of well‑control procedures and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and post‑jarring sheets.
• Effective communication skills for reporting to senior staff and client representatives.
