EMT Basic – Emergency Medical Technician (Fire Department)

About the role

The EMT Basic position is based in Kuwait and supports fire and emergency medical operations for V2X/WEXMAC. The role involves responding to fire, medical and related emergency calls, providing basic life support, and safely transporting patients to medical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls, deliver Basic Life Support in line with EMS protocols, and assist the fire department as needed.
• Maintain readiness of vehicles and equipment, perform routine inspections, and ensure all apparatus are serviceable.
• Staff the Fire Alarm Communications Center, monitor alarm systems, and dispatch appropriate resources.
• Educate staff and the public on fire safety and prevention.
• Participate in continuing medical education as both instructor and student.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship, CAC eligibility, and ability to obtain a host‑nation driver’s license.
• Minimum two years of experience on an emergency response ambulance and in an emergency health‑care setting.
• High school diploma (associate’s degree preferred) and valid EMT certifications.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 45 lb and handling patients over 100 lb.

Required skills

• National Registry of EMT (NREMT) certification or equivalent.
• CPR/BLS/AED certification.
• Firefighter I & II, Hazardous Materials Operations, Airport Firefighter certifications.
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
