About the role

The Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist for Inpatient Rehabilitation ensures that medical records accurately reflect patient complexity and resources, supporting compliance and reimbursement. Reporting to the Rehab Quality/PPS Manager, the role also acts as the RN representative on weekly Interdisciplinary Team conferences.

Key responsibilities

Review and edit patient records to align with IRF-PAI standards and ensure accurate coding.
Lead clinical interviews and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and case managers during IDT meetings.
Link clinical documentation to compliance and reimbursement processes.

Required profile

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in an Inpatient Rehab Facility or Acute Care setting.
Strong communication skills to lead multidisciplinary discussions.
High attention to detail for identifying clinical inconsistencies.
