Kitchen Steward

About the role

The Kitchen Steward ensures the kitchen and dining areas remain clean, organized, and ready for the culinary team. This position supports food service operations by maintaining equipment, utensils, and workspaces to the highest hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workspaces.
• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools.
• Coordinate cleaning and polishing of silverware, glassware, and chinaware.
• Assist in inventory management of kitchen and dining equipment.
• Ensure timely removal of garbage and waste from kitchen areas.
• Support the culinary team with food preparation and setup for meal services.
• Adhere to hygiene and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in food storage areas.
• Collaborate with stewarding supervisors and managers to complete tasks efficiently.
• Report damaged or malfunctioning kitchen equipment to supervisors.
• Participate in setup and cleanup of kitchen and dining areas for service.
• Follow safety guidelines and operate in an environmentally friendly manner.

Required profile

• Ability to follow hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Physical stamina for handling cleaning tasks and moving equipment.
• Team‑oriented mindset to collaborate with culinary and stewarding staff.
