Life & Medical Insurance Manager

About the role

The Life & Medical Insurance Manager will lead Enaya’s life and medical insurance business, shaping strategy, underwriting, and growth across the Kuwaiti market. Reporting to senior leadership, the role combines market development, team building and operational oversight to drive profitable premium expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute strategic underwriting directives to retain and grow total written premium.
• Lead retail and corporate initiatives for existing and new lines of business, positioning Enaya as a key medical insurance provider in Kuwait.
• Develop strong distributor relationships and build a high‑performing team of market‑facing underwriters.
• Conduct market, competitive and pricing research, coverage analysis and identify new business opportunities.
• Provide direction to senior management on growth and profitability targets.
• Oversee underwriting and claims teams, driving performance through motivation, coaching and product knowledge development.
• Plan, recruit, organize and monitor underwriters to achieve defined objectives.
• Monitor third‑party administrator performance, including reporting, audits, case management and fraud control.
• Ensure regulatory reporting, compliance and lead data‑analytics, risk‑management and actuarial reviews.
• Negotiate with brokers, TPAs, reinsurers and key partners to secure competitive terms and support portfolio growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any discipline with Science, Medical or Mathematics subjects.
• Insurance certification such as CERT CII, LOMA1 or equivalent.
• 10 + years of experience in underwriting and claims management of life and medical insurance products within a leading insurer.
• Proven senior‑level leadership and management capability, with a track record of influencing teams at scale.
• Familiarity with health data analytics and setting agendas for actuarial reviews.
• Demonstrated success in building and managing national‑level business relationships.
