Mathematics Foundation Program Instructor

About the role

The American International University seeks a full‑time Mathematics Foundation Program Instructor for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The instructor will deliver developmental mathematics courses within a coordinated foundation program, ensuring students acquire both conceptual understanding and procedural fluency to progress into undergraduate degree studies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality instruction in pre‑algebra, algebra, and quantitative reasoning, using evidence‑based teaching practices.
• Plan and execute structured lessons aligned with common syllabi, pacing guides, and program‑level assessments.
• Design, administer, and grade formative and summative assessments to monitor student learning and readiness for progression.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student engagement; enforce program policies on attendance and academic progress.
• Identify at‑risk students early, provide targeted support through office hours, and intervene to promote successful progression.
• Utilize Canvas as the primary LMS and Microsoft Teams for communication and instructional continuity.
• Teach effectively in both in‑person and remote formats, adapting instruction to diverse student preparation levels.
• Collaborate with course coordinators to align instruction, share best practices, and contribute to curriculum refinement.
