Mechanical Engineering Faculty Position (Assistant to Full Professor)

About the role

The School of Engineering and Computing at American International University seeks a full‑time faculty member in Mechanical Engineering. Candidates may be considered at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, based on their qualifications and experience.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate Mechanical Engineering courses with an emphasis on practical, industry‑based learning.
• Integrate industry standards, codes, real‑world case studies, and engineering projects into the curriculum.
• Utilize modern engineering tools and technologies such as AI, CAD, CAM, simulation, automation, robotics, and data analysis.
• Cover core Mechanical Engineering subjects including design, manufacturing, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials, mechanics, HVAC, and energy systems.
• Support curriculum development, accreditation processes, assessment, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with faculty and industry partners on applied research, consulting, innovation, and engineering projects.

Required profile

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of university‑level teaching experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and an active research record.
• Ability to mentor students and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and multicultural academic environment.
