Merchandiser

About the role

We are seeking a Merchandiser to work closely with the Assistant Buyer or Buyer, ensuring that the products of the assigned brand align with the sales plan. The role combines data analysis, coordination of merchandise plans, and strong relationship building with store staff.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse past sales figures and trends to forecast product needs.
• Communicate the merchandise plan to the buyer/assistant buyer for product selection, pricing and supplier decisions.
• Determine call schedules, discuss special instructions, promotions, new products and price changes.
• Visit store managers and department staff to maintain relationships, answer queries and present product features.
• Observe and maintain store shelves, removing damaged or outdated items and ensuring optimal product display.
• Restock shelves from inventory, monitor stock levels, prompt re‑ordering and arrange returns/credits for damaged goods.
• Complete call reports, monitor competitor displays and pricing.
• Track daily promotions, observe customer reactions and report findings to management.
• Report growth, expansion or closure of supermarkets in the assigned territory.
• Follow company standards to maintain quality results and stay updated through professional development.

Required profile

• 0‑3 years of experience in retail or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to analyse data.
• Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with store personnel.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of tasks.
